VINEPAIR - "14 OF THE BEST WHITE WINES FROM ITALY'S ALTO ADIGE"

VINEPAIR - "14 OF THE BEST WHITE WINES FROM ITALY'S ALTO ADIGE"
Datum: 25.09.2025

Our EICH 2024 Pinot Bianco was mentioned by Edward Deitch as one of the 14 best white wines from Alto Adige. In his article, Edward presents South Tyrol as one of Italy's ‘best-kept secrets’ and praises the remarkable blend of alpine and Mediterranean climates, the diverse vineyards and the remarkable selection of grape varieties in the region. He draws particular attention to South Tyrol's unique expressions of lesser-known grape varieties such as Pinot Bianco, Vernatsch, Lagrein and Sylvaner, noting that white wines now account for two-thirds of the region's production. For Edward, the Pinot Blancs were a revelation due to their depth and character.

Tasting notes:  Tenuta Kornell Pinot Bianco EICH 2024

With a slightly smoky nose, this wine is marked by notes of green apple and citrus, a steely minerality, and a salty touch. The vines grow in the volcanic porphyry soils found around Bolzano, which contribute to its minerality and refreshing acidity.
